זוהר בראשית — דף קכב ע”ב
Summary
The Zohar explains that the goat of the new moon arises because that field was separated from the holy King. It contrasts Eve, who clung to the serpent and brought death, with Sarah, who came up from Egypt without clinging to it; Abraham and Sarah merited the higher lives, hence “the life of Sarah.” Noah is also mentioned, along with the verse “Look to the rock from which you were hewn.” A passage on humility says that whoever makes himself small is great in the world to come, and that for one hundred the text says “year” in the singular, for seven “years” in the plural. The Tosefta mentions penalties for one who interrupts words of Torah with idle talk, or who shortens the “one” of the Shema. Rabbi Shimon explains that all these numbers are one, in the secret of unification and the hundred blessings.
