זוהר בראשית — דף קכג ע”ב

Summary

The Zohar explains that the psalm “Sing to the Lord a new song” is not described as “of David”: the Holy Spirit will sing it when the Holy One, blessed be He, raises Israel from the dust. Rabbi Yosi son of Rabbi Yehuda then asks Rabbi Hiyya about a teaching concerning the soul; he answers that the body is not entered among the righteous by way of Dumah until the soul has seen the register-token given in the Garden of Eden. He interprets the verses on the purchase of the field of Machpelah: the money of the field is the longing of four hundred worlds, and the righteous written in the register will rise at the resurrection, while the wicked who are not written will perish. Finally, Rabbi Hiyya connects this new song to the verse “there is nothing new under the sun” and identifies it with the moon.
