זוהר בראשית — דף קלג ע”א

Summary

The Zohar continues on prayer: David prayed “I will complain and moan,” one for the morning and one for Minha, and at night he rose to sing. Rabbi Shimon explains that the prayers correspond to the daily offerings and sets out why Jacob’s prayer is optional. The text turns to the verse “Isaac brought her into the tent of Sarah his mother”: the Divine Presence returned to the tent with Rebecca, the lamp that had gone out at Sarah’s death was lit again, Rebecca resembled Sarah in all her deeds, and Sarah’s likeness was seen by Isaac alone, hence “Isaac was comforted after his mother.” Finally it comments on “and he loved her,” said of Isaac, concerning the awakening of love from the left side, and begins to discuss the four wives of the patriarchs.
