זוהר בראשית — דף קלה ע”א
Summary
The Zohar continues on “Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord?”: in the Torah all the supernal secrets are sealed; Solomon sought to grasp its subtleties and said, “I said, I will be wise, but it is far from me,” and each of his parables carried a thousand and five meanings, all the more so the words of the Torah. The text then compares the generations of Ishmael, twelve princes, with those of Isaac, and explains that Isaac is above in holiness, while Jacob alone fathered the twelve tribes. It also explains why “son of Abraham” is written: Abraham’s likeness remained in Isaac. Finally, Rabbi Yehuda and his son Hizkiyah reach Rabbi Yitzhak’s door and hear him expounding “God blessed Isaac.”
