זוהר בראשית — דף קלו ע”א
Summary
Rabbi Yitzhak expounds “The sun rises and the sun sets”: the sun gives light to the moon, goes toward the south, which is the right, and then turns to the north, and the two become one. Abraham embraced the moon and drew it near, Isaac took hold of it, drawing it with love, and Jacob joined the sun with the moon, which shone and was repaired in the twelve tribes. Rabbi Yehuda opens with “Behold, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord” and explains that the effective blessing is that of those who stand by night in the house of the Lord, who rise at midnight to read the Torah, when the Holy One, blessed be He, delights with the righteous in the Garden of Eden.
