זוהר בראשית — דף קמח ע”א
Summary
The Zohar explains that, the bed of stones being prepared, it is the sun that lies down in it, hence “he lay down in that place.” Rabbi Isaac, sitting before a cave, overhears a man and his two sons; the younger says that without Jacob the world would not endure, when his sons proclaim the unity with “Hear, O Israel” and Jacob joins the patriarchs. The man opens with “Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength” and distinguishes Moses, who said “Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered” for battle, from David, who invited God to rest. One who invites the king changes his own ways to give the king joy.
