זוהר בראשית — דף קנו ע”א
Summary
Rabbi Ḥiya explains “the land on which you lie, to you I will give it”: within four cubits the Holy One, blessed be He, folded the entire Land of Israel; all the more so Rabbi Shimon, the luminary of the land, is equal to the whole world. Rabbi Yose comments on “this time I will praise”: Judah is the fourth son, who completes the throne. Rabbi Yitzhḥak opens with “How manifold are Your works, O Lord,” on the hosts and camps, differing from one another, that come forth all at once, like a hammer that sends out sparks in every direction; the world was made by speech and breath together. The Holy One, blessed be He, brought forth one hidden light, the upper world, from which the revealed lights come; that light made an “amen,” a light that does not shine, which made the lower world and brings forth legions and camps.
