זוהר בראשית — דף קפג ע”ב
Summary
The Zohar continues on the dream and ties it to the sale of Joseph. According to Rabbi Shimon, a dream that is not interpreted is like a letter that is not read: it was fulfilled without anyone knowing. Everything is proclaimed in the firmament before it comes into the world, and it is conveyed through prophecy, through the sages, or through a dream. On “His brothers went to pasture,” the dot over the word “et” hints that the Divine Presence was with them; when Joseph was sold, they made her a partner in their oath. On “I rejoiced when they said to me,” the text recalls that David wished to build the House and that his son Solomon would build it; the Jerusalem below corresponds to the one above, and the tribes sustain the world. On “a man found him,” it asks why Jacob sent Joseph to his brothers: he did not suspect them, and it was the Holy One, blessed be He, who brought it about to fulfill the decree of the covenant between the pieces.
