זוהר בראשית — דף רכ ע”א

When Jacob said 'Gather yourselves', he assembled all the tribes together. For without their brothers, no tribe can stand against its enemies. When Jacob was dying, all the tribes wept, and each one remembered the blessing his father had given him. The righteous, through their death, sustain all the peoples of the earth by their merit.
