During all the years that Israel is in exile, the Holy One blessed be He weeps for them in inner chambers. When the redemption comes, joy will be above and below. The weeping of the Holy One blessed be He over Israel is like the weeping of a father over his children. Every tear that falls from the eyes of the Holy One becomes a river in the Garden of Eden. The exile is not only a trial for Israel but also a sorrow for the Shekhinah that accompanies them.
