The tribe of Dan judges its people like Samson who executed justice alone without support, for Dan is the serpent that lurks on roads and paths, gathering all the camps of impure forces. This serpent waits at crossroads to prevent evil forces from destroying the world. From the side of Dan emerge sorcerers into the world, and Balaam the wicked knew all the powers of impurity. Moses bound Dan to the lion so that the beginning and end of the banners would be connected to Judah, and Samson inherited his father Dan's blessing as the serpent on the path.
