זוהר שמות — דף ב ע”ב
Summary
Rabbi Shimon opens by asking why Ezekiel revealed his visions, answering that he did so legitimately and with God's permission. The Israelites who descended to Egypt were accustomed to hardship from their forefathers' days, and endured exile. But the Babylonian exile was a complete grief — celestial and earthly beings wept over it — because Israel had lived there in royal luxury. At the hour of exile, the Holy One summoned all the camps of the sacred Chariot and said: my children are in exile and you are here? Rise, descend to Babylon, I am with you. When Israel saw this and heard Ezekiel's words, they rejoiced knowing God had not abandoned them.
