The Zohar teaches here that the Shekhinah traveled within the Patriarchs: going before them by day is Abraham, the pillar of cloud is Isaac, and guiding on the path is Jacob. The Holy One and His court walked before Israel. The Zohar also comments on the psalm of the Aielet Hashachar, the doe of dawn, who awakens the morning with her rays, just as the Torah awakens the higher light in Israel. The Community of Israel is she who dwells in the gardens, the companions listening to her voice, and the song of Torah awakens the supreme light.
