Parasha Yitro, folio 71a — The Zohar elaborates on kabbalistic physiognomy: reading the signs of the soul in hair, its color, length and texture, as well as in the forehead and its lines. Rabbi Shimon declares he raised his hands in prayer to the Creator before revealing these elevated secrets. The prophets reached prophecy through different organs: hearing, sight, smell and speech. The souls who left Egypt were as servants until Moses called them sons. Blessed are the companions who merited these secret teachings.
