This section addresses the holy soul, drawn from a supernal place and called the "daughter of the priest", daughter of Abraham our father, first of the converts. The Zohar distinguishes between different levels of priesthood — High Priest, deputy, and common priest-man — and parallels them with the three soul-levels: neshamah, ruach, and nefesh. The holy soul enters the secret of the Tree of Life, from which souls fly to a celestial treasury. Woe to the world, for people do not guard themselves and are drawn after the evil inclination, the "foreign man". When the soul falls to the Other Side, it is coerced and does not complete its perfection in this world, deprived of the sacred portions reserved for souls that have fully accomplished their purpose.
