זוהר שמות — דף צט ע”א
Summary
The Zohar addresses the commandment to protect the proselyte in the Torah, and the mystery of the hidden word that emerges from its sheath and then returns. The verse « you shall know the soul of the stranger » is this hidden revelation that comes out of its sheath, and immediately re-clothes itself under the reason of the exile in Egypt. The warning about the proselyte re-enters the garment of the verse « for you were strangers », because after the revelation the matter is re-dressed and no one can pay attention to it.
