The Zohar treats the mystery of divorce: all women of the world stand in the image of the altar and inherit the seven blessings of the Knesset Yisrael. Whoever divorces his first wife causes the stone to return to diminishment. The Zohar interprets the mystery of the bill of divorce: « he shall write her a document of severance » is linked to the separation of the sefirot. Divorces in this world create spiritual separations in the higher worlds, and the Temple altar sheds tears over this.
