זוהר שמות — דף קיג ע”א

Summary

Solomon rode the eagle to the place of foreign wisdoms, where he placed a ring before them and learned what he desired. Back on his throne he said: "I returned and saw" — I returned from that wisdom and it settled in my heart. The oppressed mentioned are children who die in their mothers' arms, oppressed above and below. The mamzer too is oppressed: upon leaving this world he is separated from the community of Israel and cries before the Creator: if my fathers sinned, what wrong did I commit? For all these oppressed ones there is no comforter. Those oppressed who were made under the sun were made as souls and bodies, and when the body was purified, it too suffered oppression.
