Shor (ox) represents the destructive forces that dominated the Temple. Bor (pit) is Lilith imprisoning the Shekhinah in exile. Ever (fire) is the harlot, the fire of Zion that ruled at the time of destruction. Adam Beliyaal is the fourth founding father of damage, of the fire category. Tefillin, circumcision, and zachor/shamor are the sacred marks by which Israel consecrates itself to holiness. Whoever bears these marks — the Shekhinah dwells upon him.
