זוהר שמות — דף קכא ע”ב

Summary

Folio 121b discusses the distinction between the levels of "kadosh" (holy) and "kodesh" (holiness) in relation to Israel. Kadosh refers to the lower level and kodesh to the higher level. Through the discussion of torn meat (treifa) and Israel's holiness, it is explained that Israel called "kodesh" do not draw sustenance from the side of harsh judgment. The carcass is thrown to the dog, which represents the impudent and powerful judgment carrying impurity. Rabbi Shimon explains that the verse "kodesh Israel to the Lord, firstfruits of His produce" relates to the supernal world, and whoever devours it will be guilty.
