The Holy One blessed be He judges the world according to the majority of people. Adam sinned from the Tree of Knowledge and caused a flaw that separated wife from husband, a flaw that persisted until Israel stood at Sinai. When Israel came to Sinai, the flaw was repaired and the moon returned to its original state. But when they sinned with the calf, the flaw returned. The king of the following world busies himself building the Tabernacle to repair the matter. The Tabernacle is the repair of the sin of the calf and the breaking of the Tablets.
