זוהר בראשית — דף קיו ע”ב

Summary

Rabbi Yehuda opens with the verse “It is time to act for the Lord: they have made void Your Torah”: the “time” is Knesset Yisrael, as in “let him not come at all times into the sanctuary,” for she has her time and season to be united as is fitting. “To act for the Lord”: whoever strives in Torah is as though he had set this time right and joined it to the Holy One, blessed be He; “they have made void Your Torah”: had it not been made void, there would be no separation between the Holy One and Israel. Rabbi Yose cites “I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time” and says that Knesset Yisrael is in the dust for one day only. Rabbi Yehuda explains through the secret of the letters: in exile the “he” was separated from the “vav,” “I was mute,” and she lies in the dust for one day of the “he,” the fifth millennium, and in the sixth the “vav” will raise the “he.”
