זוהר בראשית — דף קלב ע”א
Summary
The Zohar teaches that the Torah is more precious than pearls, and that David, looking into the spirit of wisdom, said, “Open my eyes, that I may behold.” On “and behold, Rebecca came out,” the Holy One, blessed be He, brought her out from the people of the city, all of them wicked, and there she met the well of Miriam. The servant arrived at the time of Minha, just when Isaac was praying, and everything was found in its place. The text then tells how Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Abba meet a Jew from Cappadocia on the road, and adds rules of prayer: not to place any obstacle between oneself and the wall, and not to pray behind one’s teacher. Finally it comments on “Hear my prayer, Lord, and give ear to my cry”: “hear” denotes the rank that receives all prayers and makes of them a crown for the head of the righteous; prayer is whispered, the cry is aloud.
