זוהר בראשית — דף קמה ע”ב
Summary
Rabbi Ḥiya expounds “I, wisdom, dwell with cunning”: the Assembly of Israel, Jacob the wise, and Isaac, who had knowledge of devices for blessing Esau; the blessings rested on Jacob and were fulfilled in him and his sons. Some were fulfilled in this world, and all will be fulfilled at the coming of the Messiah, which is why Jacob wished to defer them to the future. Rabbi Yesa reads “Fear not, O Jacob My servant” as a voice reassuring Jacob. On the road, Rabbi Yose says that all God does on earth belongs to the secret of wisdom, and that Rabbi Yohanan ben Zakkai stated three hundred laws on “his wife’s name was Mehetabel.” The text also recalls the serpent that injected impurity into Eve, and the two goats Jacob offered to his father.
