זוהר בראשית — דף קצה ע”ב

Summary

The Zohar continues with Ecclesiastes: all the world’s deeds depend on many spirits, and even Solomon could not withstand them. On the verse “He has made everything beautiful in its time,” it teaches that every deed has an appointed level, on the right or on the left: one who goes to the right is assisted, one who goes to the left is accused and led astray. The righteous draw down good deeds and know how to cleave to a time of peace, while the wicked do not know the time of their deeds. “I know that there is nothing good in them but to rejoice” means giving thanks for whatever comes. A person does not know his time, “like fish caught in a net,” and must never open his mouth for evil. Joseph began with the peace of Pharaoh, and the Holy One, blessed be He, cares for the peace of the kingdom.
