Joseph and Benjamin wept over each other. Joseph wept for the Temple in Benjamin's portion, and Benjamin wept for the Tabernacle of Shiloh in Joseph's portion. The consolation is that Benjamin knew that from his portion the supernal Temple above would emerge. Isaac blessed Jacob with 'May God give you' — what had been given to Isaac was passed to Jacob. But when blessing Esau, 'he gave' is not written, for there was nothing to give. Heaven did not help him, for he was not worthy.
