זוהר שמות — דף ה ע”ב

Summary

Rabbi Abba opens on the secret of 'come with me from Lebanon, bride.' Each day a heavenly voice goes out from Mount Horeb and proclaims: woe to people who have forsaken the glory of the Torah. Whoever engages in Torah merits the Shekhina dwelling within him, and the Community of Israel is bound to him. The world's sustenance depends on Torah, and everything within Torah is a higher support. When a person accepts the yoke of Torah, commandments and heaven's sovereignty, the holy Shekhina rests upon him; when he abandons the yoke of Torah, the spirit of impurity rules over him.
