Rabbi Elazar recounts a vision: he saw the souls of the righteous flying through the air toward the Garden of Eden, and received a scroll of celestial writings. He learns that in the Garden, the soul takes on a form similar to the body of this world through the four winds of the Garden — just as the body is formed by the four elements. Without these four winds, the soul cannot take shape. Rabbi Elazar blesses the All-Merciful for sending him this teaching and rejoices in his miraculous encounter.
