זוהר שמות — דף יח ע”א
Summary
Rabbi Yehouda found Rabbi Elazar sitting sad, his hand at his mouth. He asked what occupied him, and he replied he was meditating on the verse: the light of a king's face gives life. If the Master is sad, what will his servants and children of his house do? This is the meaning of the verse: the angels of peace weep bitterly. There are angels of severe judgment, angels of moderate judgment, and angels of pure mercy. The ten crowns of the King are the inner chambers where the Master dwells, and the angels are in the outer chambers. Woe to us for we are devastated - this is the time of exile.
