זוהר שמות — דף כז ע”ב

Summary

Rabbi Elazar describes thirteen supernal springs emerging from the right side, generating thousands of channels flowing in four directions. Within these channels dwells a mighty leviathan with a rose-red head and iron-hard scales that terrifies all fish. Every seventy years it is bound and cast into the abyss to prevent it from corrupting the heavenly firmaments. The divine blessing is granted to the great celestial dragons that rule over the waters, as it is written: they shall fill the waters in the seas. The supernal Shekhinah adorns herself with many ornaments, like a cluster of henna, for the benefit of her children.
