זוהר שמות — דף כט ע”א
Summary
David strove his whole life to rectify the Throne and illuminate the Shekhinah so that she would protect him; Solomon found the world complete and the moon full. When the Holy One takes vengeance on idolatrous nations, the left side is aroused and the moon fills with blood, causing Egypt s channels to turn to blood. Since Israel was within Egypt, the Holy One did not send another people to spill blood there, but struck the rivers directly. Rabbi Hiya opens a verse from Ecclesiastes: one who walks in divine ways receives peace. A young child reveals that Solomon exhorts to crown the Community of Israel with joy on both sides, right and left, so that faith may be complete.
