The trial of Job lasted twelve months, the duration of the judgment of the wicked in Gehenna. Job s trial is unlike Abraham s trial - Abraham surrendered his son with his own hands, while Job gave nothing. Cain brought an offering from the end of days - the secret of the other side - and it was not accepted. Abel also brought his offering mainly for the Holy One and gave a portion to the other side, so it was accepted. Job raised up whole burnt offerings on high and gave no portion to the other side - which is why the accuser had no hold on him before.
