זוהר שמות — דף מד ע”ב

Summary

This passage in the Zohar discusses the story of the Shunammite woman and Elisha the prophet. The day mentioned in the verse refers to Rosh Hashana, the day when barren women are remembered and all people are judged. When Elisha offers to intercede on her behalf, the woman answers: I dwell among my people, for during the time of Judgment, one must not separate from the community, as divine mercy extends over the entire people as one. The child born to her died because he was connected to the feminine side rather than the masculine, and whoever comes from the feminine side, death precedes him. Elisha places the child on his holy bed and ultimately revives him.
