The Zohar discusses here the supernal chariots upon chariots. The wheels of the Merkavah run at great speed and their supports do not stop. The chariot presiding over Egypt lost its strength when it was removed from the heavens. Pharaoh boasted of six hundred elite chariots, but their wheels were removed to burden them. Rabbi Shimon explains that every ruler destituted of power suffers from that destitution, and this is the secret of the sufferings of the chosen.
