The Zohar describes here the armed camps of angels surrounding the Shekhinah, called the Gevira (the Mistress). Sixty faces of sword-girded camps stand around her. With six wings they fly through the entire world, and before each of them burning coals blaze. The Zohar discusses the secret of the Song of the Sea: all the supernal hosts sang a song before the Holy One, and Israel sang below about the miracle that had been performed before their eyes.
