Prayer must ascend from narrowness toward Jerusalem by a straight path, like the sound of the shofar that rises and pierces the heavens. At the moment of the Song of the Sea, the Holy Blessed One revealed Himself to Israel with all His chariots and armies, and each person received wisdom surpassing that of all the prophets of the world. Even the fetus in its mother's womb sang, and the Holy Spirit hovered over them all. Israel refused to move on, so great was their longing to behold the King, until the Divine Glory concealed itself toward the desert to draw them forward.
