Parashah Yitro. The ten rulers we mentioned correspond to the ten utterances below in the secret of the letters inscribed as those above. The Torah scroll corresponds to the Shekhinah: when opened, the gates of mercy open. Yitro came to join Israel after hearing all the miracles, particularly the splitting of the Reed Sea. From Yitro heard, true hearing that led to repentance and action. The merit of Yitro s conversion is so great that Scripture named the parashah in his honor.
