זוהר שמות — דף קיד ע”א
Summary
"Engraved on the tablets" is interpreted as: freedom from the angel of death, freedom from the servitude of kingdoms, and freedom from all things. The tablets are the seal of the World to Come, in which all freedom dwells. Had they not been broken, Israel would have been in the image of the supernal angels. Rabbi Hiyya opens on the verse "Place me as a seal upon your heart": when the Community of Israel cleaved to her husband, she asked that her image remain engraved in him. Love is as strong as death, jealousy as hard as the grave, and the flame of Yah is that flame emerging from the supernal world and seizing the Community of Israel so that all become one unity.
