In the World to Come, Binah is above the sun, which is the middle pillar. Vows rise above oaths and apply to what is immaterial, for the oath belongs to this world which stands only on the foundation of the Righteous. The thorn of the dalet holds together aleph-khet and dalet, between heaven and earth. One who swears falsely is as if they destroyed the edifice of heaven and earth and returned the world to chaos. Truth endures, falsehood does not. One who swears truthfully fulfills: "Truth shall spring from the earth" — this is the middle pillar by which the structure endures.
