When Israel left Egypt and was complete at sixty myriads, the holy kingdom strengthened and rose above all. The Moon shone and the wicked kingdom was subdued. The Holy One Blessed Be He led them into the sealed desert, and there gave them the manna, the supernal bread. On Rosh Hashanah, when Israel blows the shofar, the sound pierces the heavens until it reaches the mighty rock that covers the Moon, and awakens mercy.
