זוהר שמות — דף קצג ע”ב
Summary
Jeroboam made calves at Bethel and Dan to attract the impure side and sever the bond between Israel and their Father, which caused the impure side to dwell in the sanctuary. Jeroboam’s sin was graver than Aaron’s with the calf, because Aaron acted with good intentions, while Jeroboam acted from bad will to make Israel sin. The Zohar analyzes the deep spiritual and legal dimensions of these sins and how they affect subsequent generations.
