The parashah of Vayakhel deals with the construction of the Mishkan by Bezalel and Oholiab, who were endowed with divine wisdom. Bezalel, whose name means “in the shadow of God”, knew how to combine the letters through which the world was created. The union of Bezalel and Oholiab expresses the unity of supernal wisdom with Binah. The construction of the Mishkan mirrors the creation of the higher worlds, and the Shekhinah established her dwelling within it. The erection of the Mishkan draws spiritual abundance from above to below and unifies the worlds.
