The evil inclination has several aspects and levels: twisted serpent, Satan, angel of death, evil inclination. And seven names: Satan, impure, enemy, stumbling stone, uncircumcised, evil, northern. At the moment of the Shema recitation, man draws down upon the world that other side, and it is subjugated before its Creator. Blessed is one who knows how to guard oneself from that side and cleave to the holiness of the Creator.
