Rabbi Shimon opens on the verse 'It came to pass, it came to pass the word of God' (repeated twice). The Zohar explains that Ezekiel revealed the secrets of the Divine Chariot (Merkava) because he was a faithful prophet, and that any prophet shown a great vision was obligated to reveal it. The Shekhinah descended before Ezekiel and revealed to him the secret of the four Living Beings (Hayyot), and the Zohar analyzes why the term 'it came to pass' is said twice, an allusion to two exiles and two deliverances.
