זוהר ויקרא — דף ט ע”ב

Summary

The poor man's offering is especially precious, for it is as if he offers both his own fat and blood through his poverty and the offering itself; even the poor man's flour offering is regarded as though he offered his very soul. Rabbi Yehuda opens with "Blessed is the Lord from Zion" and explains that blessing issues from Zion when the moon (the Community of Israel) is illuminated by the sun's light and draws near to it. The text then describes how the Holy One, blessed be He, created seven heavens above and seven lands below, with the Land of Israel and Jerusalem the highest of all inhabited places.
