זוהר ויקרא — דף יז ע”א
Summary
Continuing the description of the Throne of Judgment: a lion of fire descends to consume the limbs of the sacrifices along with the destructive forces appointed over each sin, and Israel's sins - the limbs of the Shechinah - are atoned; the living creatures of merit, from the Throne of Mercy (the Supernal Mother, repentance), draw near through the Name YHVH, which brings water close to fire and spirit close to dust without separating them. A passage from the Raya Mehemna expounds the secret of the letters Y-H-V in six permutations contained within the Righteous One (Yesod), encompassing the six sefirot and eighteen letters ('chai'), linked to Jacob's ladder and the secret of the dream in three restorations. Then, on the verse 'if the anointed priest sins,' Rabbi Abba opens with 'Tell me, you whom my soul loves' - words of the Assembly of Israel to the Holy King, spoken at Moshe's passing and applied to the exile. In the name of Rav Hamnuna Saba: as long as the Assembly of Israel is with the Holy One, blessed be He, He is in completeness, nourished from the Supernal Mother's milk and nourishing all others; without male and female together, blessings do not rest, which is why the Holy One weeps over the destruction of His House. Finally, the words of the Assembly of Israel departing into exile: 'How will You pasture' without her.
