זוהר בראשית — דף קעו ע”א
Summary
The Zohar answers that in Ezekiel’s vision the Holy One, blessed be He, wished to show that He will revive the dead, and that the Torah in which a person labored stands before Him as an advocate. Rabbi Shimon adds that words of Torah raise their voice before the Holy One, blessed be He, and do not subside. Rabbi Hiyya interprets “and how they lay with the women” regarding Eli’s sons: not a transgression, but that they prevented women from entering. Likewise “he lay with Bilhah”: Reuben prevented a service of a commandment, and nothing was subtracted from the merit of Jacob’s sons, who remained twelve. Rabbi Elazar explains the shift from “Israel” to “Jacob.”
