This folio recounts the Torah's plea before the Holy One, Blessed be He: "Was I then in vain for two thousand years before the world was created?" The Torah was given to Israel because it was written for them and not for the nations of the world. The mystery of the Ten Commandments is deepened: "Anokhi (I)" is the secret of perfect Royalty (Malkhut), containing the Holy Awesome Name. The supernal Garden of Eden is the sanctuary of the Torah and the source of holiness where the souls of the Righteous repose.
