זוהר שמות — דף צז ע”א

Summary

The Zohar interprets the verse « if a man sells his daughter as a maidservant » by explaining that the Holy One blessed be He is the seller and the holy soul is His daughter. His request is that the soul leave the world pure and clear, as a free woman. If the soul exits stained by sins, woe to that body which loses that soul forever. Souls that ascend purely enter the king's treasury register by their names, and « lou y'adah » is written with vav — she is destined for that body. If she exits bad in the eyes of her master, « lo y'adah » is written with alef and that body perishes.
