זוהר בראשית — דף קצו ע”ב

Summary

The Zohar explains that through Joseph the righteous, Israel received wealth of silver and gold. It opens with “See life with the woman you love”: the life is that of the World to Come, the woman is the Assembly of Israel, and “your portion in life” is the sun with the moon, which must be joined. “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might”: the might is a person’s soul, and after leaving this world no deeds can be done; one who has not prepared provisions will not eat. Joseph merited both worlds because he clung to the fear of the Lord. “Joseph gathered all the money” and “the second chariot” teach that the righteous is nourished from a supernal source and rules, and “Avrekh” denotes the bond of sun and moon before which all bow.
